The Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing various construction projects that involve structural components. This role involves applying principles of structural engineering and architectural design to ensure that structures are safe, sustainable, and capable of withstanding the elements and stresses they will encounter. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in the principles of structural engineering, experience with design software, and a commitment to staying current with industry trends and technologies.

·         Design and Analysis: Develop detailed structural designs for various projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis programs to create and simulate structural models.

·         Project Planning: Work closely with architects, construction managers, and other engineers to determine the specifications of a project. Plan the layout of structures, considering physical constraints and regulatory requirements.

·         Material Selection: Select appropriate construction materials for the structures, considering factors such as strength, durability, and cost. Ensure materials comply with industry standards and environmental regulations.

·         Compliance and Safety: Ensure all designs and architectural plans meet building codes, local ordinances, and safety standards. Stay updated with the latest building regulations and codes.

·         Collaboration: Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects to integrate structural designs with electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering elements of projects.

·         Documentation: Prepare reports, design documents, and structural analysis findings for internal review and submission to regulatory bodies. Maintain accurate project documentation and records.

·         Site Visits: Conduct site visits to monitor the progress of construction projects, ensuring that the work conforms to the design specifications and safety standards.

·         Problem-Solving: Address design and engineering issues that arise during the construction process. Provide technical guidance and propose modifications as necessary.

·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.

·         Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

·         Proficiency in design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar.

·         Strong understanding of construction methods, building materials, and legal regulations.

·         Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

·         Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex ideas clearly.

·         Commitment to continuing education and staying informed of new technologies and regulations in the field of structural engineering.
