Design Manager with experience in Steel Structures

We are currently seeking an experienced Design Manager with a strong background in steel structures to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading design teams and managing the development of complex steel structure projects from conception through to completion. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership ability, and project management skills.

·         Lead and manage the design team, ensuring effective collaboration and coordination between engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.

·         Oversee the design process of steel structures, ensuring all projects meet technical standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.

·         Develop and implement design strategies, workflows, and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

·         Liaise with clients and consultants to gather project requirements, provide expert advice, and ensure that design solutions meet or exceed expectations.

·         Coordinate with project managers and other departments to ensure seamless integration of design with project planning, execution, and delivery.

·         Review and approve design documents, drawings, and specifications, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and feasibility.

·         Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in steel structure design and construction.

·         Manage and mentor design staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development.

·         Contribute to the preparation of proposals, presentations, and bids, showcasing the company’s design capabilities and solutions.

·         Oversee budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for the design department to ensure projects are completed within time and budget constraints.

·         Manage risks and troubleshoot design-related issues throughout the project lifecycle.

·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

·         Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design of steel structures, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.

·         Strong knowledge of design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Structures) and engineering principles related to steel structure design.

·         Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to lead a team, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver results under tight deadlines.

·         Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.

·         Ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams.

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence and high-quality work.
